PDCA Cycle

PDCA Cycle
BANU-BAP follows the following fundamental policies and priorities in order to provide services more effectively, improve the quality of academic research, and contribute to our country's development goals:

Contribution to the national economy through alignment with strategic plans and development goals
Regional and societal benefit by providing solutions to societal problems
Strengthening research infrastructure through research and innovation-focused projects
Contributing to the training of academics through postgraduate thesis projects
Sustainability and information society strategy
The PDCA (Plan, Do, Check, Act) cycle is structured as follows to systematically evaluate, improve, and demonstrate sustainable performance in the processes of the BANU-BAP unit. The BANU-BAP PDCA cycle creates an effective framework for continuous improvement while contributing to successful results in both research and management processes of your unit.

PDCA Cycle in BANU-BAP Processes

PLAN

The BANU-BAP unit is built on the goal of achieving the university's vision of becoming a "respected education and research university at the international level," in line with the university's 2021-2025 Strategic Plan. During the planning phase, legal regulations, the university's strategic priorities, national/international development plans, and feedback from internal and external stakeholders are taken into account. Policies to support research and development processes are developed in collaboration with relevant units such as the Strategy Development Department, Quality Coordination Office, Scientific Projects Coordination Office, and Technology Transfer Office. Within this scope, project support criteria, incentive mechanisms, and objectives are clearly defined; task assignments and timelines are planned.

IMPLEMENT

To achieve the defined objectives, the BAP Commission holds meetings twice a year (January-July), and the support limits provided to researchers are revised according to current market conditions. Project application, execution, procurement, and completion processes are conducted transparently through the E-BAP Automation System, guiding researchers. Graduate project support continues to be provided to support graduate students, and incentive mechanisms are created for faculty members with different academic titles. Furthermore, training programs are organized to improve project writing and execution skills.

CHECK

The unit regularly evaluates and monitors research and development activities in terms of performance and societal contribution. In this process, data obtained through the E-BAP Automation System, activity reports, YÖKAK (Council of Higher Education Quality Assurance), Strategic Plan performance indicators, Internal Institutional Evaluation Reports (KIDR), and other quality reports are used for analysis. The most important control mechanism for achieving our unit's goals is the BANU E-BAP Automation System. Through automation, budget and support allocations are tracked according to project types, units, sub-disciplines, and academic units; scientific publications produced from projects and their impacts are examined. Data obtained from control processes, in collaboration with the Quality Coordination Office, enables the development of improvement suggestions.

TAKE PRECAUTIONS

Annual adjustments are made to address deficiencies identified during the control process and to improve processes. Considering Unit Activity Reports, Court of Accounts audits, internal audits, and unit performance statistics, necessary arrangements are made to establish operational and control mechanisms for each year. Activities are carried out to encourage and inform researchers.
