Project by Our Faculty Member Approved for Funding by TÜBİTAK

The project titled “The Effect of Anticoagulants on Oxidative DNA Base Damage: A GC-MS/MS-Based Molecular Approach,” led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Duygu Eryavuz Onmaz, a faculty member of the Department of Medical Biochemistry at our Faculty of Medicine, has been approved for funding within the scope of the Türkiye Bilimsel ve Teknolojik Araştırma Kurumu (TÜBİTAK) 1002 – Rapid Support Program.

The project team includes Prof. Dr. Filiz Özyiğit, a faculty member of the Department of Pharmacology at our Faculty of Medicine, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Önder Aybastıer, a faculty member of the Department of Chemistry at the Faculty of Arts and Sciences of Bursa Uludağ University, as researchers. Within the scope of the project, the direct molecular effects of various anticoagulant drugs commonly used in clinical practice on DNA base damage under conditions of oxidative stress will be investigated at a mechanistic level using advanced analytical methods. The study aims to contribute to the molecular safety profile of anticoagulants and to establish a scientific foundation for advanced cellular and translational research.

We congratulate our faculty member and the project team on receiving support from TÜBİTAK and wish them continued success in their scientific endeavors.
