Panel Titled “The Path from Life to Science: Perspectives on Cadaver and Organ Donation” Held
A panel titled “The Path from Life to Science: Perspectives on Cadaver and Organ Donation” was organized by our Faculty of Medicine and the Medical Students Association in order to discuss the role of cadaver and organ donation in medical education, along with its ethical, social, and humanitarian dimensions.
The event, held at the Mehmet Akif Ersoy Conference Hall, featured Assoc. Prof. Dr. Muhammet Bora Uzuner, Asst. Prof. Dr. Kadir Kabahasanoğlu, and Asst. Prof. Dr. Muammer Hayri Bektaş from the Faculty of Medicine as speakers. The panel was moderated by Ahmet Hasan Yavuz, a second-year medical student representing the Medical Students Association.
During the panel, it was emphasized that cadaver and organ donation is not merely a medical process, but also a significant humanitarian responsibility grounded in social solidarity and respect for human life. Ethical, legal, religious, and educational aspects of the donation process were addressed, and discussions focused on raising awareness to promote a culture of donation. Participants underlined that organ and cadaver donation offers hope for life to many patients.
At the end of the event, certificates of appreciation were presented to the speakers by the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Prof. Dr. Ayşe Güldem Kilciler. The program concluded with a group photo.
