Message from Our Rector, Prof. Dr. İsmail Boz, on the Occasion of the 29 October Republic Day

As a nation, we celebrate with great pride, enthusiasm, and honor the 102nd anniversary of the proclamation of our Republic. This meaningful day stands as a symbol of our rebirth on the stage of history, breaking the chains of oppression and demonstrating unparalleled heroism in the struggle for independence.

Under the leadership of Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the Turkish nation’s determination, faith, and perseverance in the War of Independence once again declared to the entire world that “the Turkish nation does not accept captivity.” The Republic is the eternal expression of our nation’s will, its love of independence, and its devotion to the homeland.

The Republic entrusts us with the duty to protect every inch of this sacred land, sanctified by the blood of our martyrs, and to elevate it further in accordance with the requirements of the modern age. Upholding this legacy is not only a civic responsibility but also a debt of gratitude to our ancestors and a solemn promise to our children.

As Bandırma Onyedi Eylül University, we regard it as our most noble duty to raise young people equipped with knowledge, wisdom, and faith youth who are loyal to their nation, state, and flag. We firmly believe that our future will rise upon the shoulders of these young generations whose hearts beat with love for their country, who are deeply rooted in their heritage yet have a broad vision for the world.

On this blessed day, I commemorate with mercy our revered martyrs who sacrificed their lives for our homeland and independence, and I extend my heartfelt gratitude to our heroic veterans, especially to Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the founder of our Republic.

Prof. Dr. İsmail Boz
