Bandırma’s Healthcare Infrastructure Strengthened: 350-Bed New Hospital Project Announced
During a series of programs held in Balıkesir, the Minister of Health, Kemal Memişoğlu, officially announced the new hospital project planned to be established in Bandırma. At the meeting, which was also attended by our Rector, İsmail Boz, Minister Memişoğlu shared the following statements regarding the healthcare investment for Bandırma:
“We have a piece of good news that we would particularly like to share with our fellow citizens of Bandırma. We will soon be launching the project tender for a 350-bed hospital in Bandırma, with the capacity to be expanded. God willing, we aim to complete the project phase in 2026 and start construction the following year. This is because Bandırma has both a university and a university hospital. We will therefore design this project accordingly in order to provide this service to our citizens.”
AK Party Balıkesir Member of Parliament Ali Taylan Öztaylan also commented on the matter, stating that the new hospital project, which had previously been shared with the public, has now been officially announced by the Minister of Health, and emphasized that this investment will constitute a strategic gain in the field of healthcare for Bandırma and the surrounding region.
Upon completion of the new hospital, it is envisaged that an integrated healthcare infrastructure will be established together with the Bandırma Onyedi Eylül University Training and Research Hospital, increasing Bandırma’s total bed capacity to 750. This investment is expected to significantly enhance access to healthcare services for residents of Bandırma and neighboring districts, while substantially strengthening the region’s healthcare capacity.
