Bandırma Onyedi Eylül University has entered into a strategic partnership with the Güney Marmara Kalkınma Ajansı (GMKA) in order to contribute to Türkiye’s digital defense vision and to cultivate a new generation of professionals equipped with advanced competencies in cybersecurity. Within the scope of the “Türkiye Cyber Homeland Program,” implemented to strengthen the country’s cybersecurity capacity, a cooperation protocol was formally signed between the University and GMKA.
The signing ceremony, held at the Rectorate Meeting Hall, was attended by Rector Prof. Dr. İsmail Boz, who signed the protocol on behalf of the University, and Secretary General Onur Adıyaman, who represented GMKA. Vice Rectors Prof. Dr. Alpaslan Serel and Prof. Dr. Mehmet Emin Erçakar were also present at the ceremony.
Under the protocol, the parties aim to enhance university students’ knowledge and skills in the field of cybersecurity, develop their digital competencies through specialized training programs, and support the growth of a qualified regional workforce. Within the framework of the program, students with an interest in cybersecurity will be admitted to the training process following an application and evaluation phase, and will receive instruction from expert trainers in the field.
We believe that this cooperation between our University and GMKA will make a significant contribution to the professional development of our students and to the strengthening of regional partnerships, and we wish the protocol every success.
